Valentine's and one year anniversary giveaway

Feb. 19th marks my one year anniversary of my etsy shop, angelbugprims!! ~yea!! Feb. 14th is my 42nd birthday ~ not so yea! lol!! and to celebrate, I am giving away this primitive heart make do...
"The Key to my Heart"...it is nestled on a rusty spring in a bed of spanish moss and surrounded by red pip berries. There is a rusty skeleton key tied on with red checked homespun. This make do is 9 1/2 inches tall and about 5 inches wide so it should be able to be tucked just about anywhere. So, to be entered be a follower of my blog (new followers are always welcome!) and leave me a comment on your best Valentine's moment or your favorite LOVE song lyrics, because who doesn't love to be seranaded!

Feb. 19th marks the one year anniversary of my little etsy shop, angelbugprims. Wow! How time does fly! I have joined some wonderful groups...Handmade Art Fair, Old Farmhouse Gathering, PAFA and lots more. I have also met some awesome ladies!!!

If you aren't tuned into Prim Chat...you need to be! They have an online show that meets twice a month. They give tips and tricks and just chat about everything in the craft making world.  I have learned so much from them and honestly, every show I listen to I learn some more!

So what is next? Hmmm, well, Handmade art fair is having a spring showing of all new items starting March 4th and March 31 is my very first craft show, The Covered Bridge Craft Show in Reyolds High School from 9-3. If you're in the area stop in and say hi!

We just got Justin's Senior pictures back and wow! my boys all grown up! He turns 19 in March, he's off to France in April with the French Club and then he'll be graduating in June. I am so proud of him!!

He's kinda cute, isn't he??

Working hard!

I have just completed a few items from Becky Erickson's Tennessee Ridge Primitives Patterns - I love her! and her patterns!!

This first item is supposed to be a girl witch but isn't it funny how sometimes the item you're working on tells you how it wants to look...because he is all male! His dark mysterious eyes peek out from under the brim of his witches hat. Holding his black cat, he is contemplating all sorts of tricks for Halloween night and of course, how not to get caught!

The other item is this gorgeous centerpiece Witches Hat and Crow with Primitive Broom. I love this piece. Nothing says Halloween like a Witches Hat! and this one is a nice size at 15 inches tall and 9 inches wide. This would look great displayed anywhere inside your home or even outside on a bench or a set of steps...

Autumn is in the Air!Everyone is busy making pumpkins, scarecrows, witches and such! I love it! The oranges, yellows, reds, browns... the warm colors of Fall that makes you feel all cozy inside. The cool night air, crickets chirping and pretty sunsets. I love this time of year and will enjoy the next few months.
Speaking of love...
I have come across one of the best pattern makers in the prim world, Tennessee Ridge Primitives by Becky Erickson. If you haven't heard of her, you have to give her a holler. I absolutely love her patterns.
They are very detailed and very easy to understand. She just says it like it is, no guess work involved. She is a super lady that strives to satisfy her customers and loves fed back. You can find her at www.tennesseeridgeprimitives.com and I just know she would love to hear from you! I have just finished a few of her patterns and have a few more in the works. These are posted on ebay and are up for auction this week along with all of the other awesome antiques and primitives flying off the shelves right now. One thing her patterns call for is cinnamon, lots and lots of cinnamon!

I have been baking more cinnamon these past couple weeks then my poor boys can stand. They come running into the kitchen when the smells waft down the halls and through the house only to find Mama baking a cat head sprinkled with cinnamon...again!

Sorry the pics are so big, I'm not computer literate at all! And just lucky to get them up! Ha! But I'm tryin! Like the song goes...Oh Lord, I'm tryin!

How about a Rusty update before I turn in...She is doing great! Her surgery was a piece of cake, she slept it off really and was back on her feet in just a couple of days. Her brothers took extra good care of her. Animals amaze me! They were nervous the day of her surgery and with the fact that she was gone all day. Then when she came home instead of tackling her as usual, they tiptoed around her, gave her soft nudges and kisses. They layed next to her oh so gently. Animals are so good for the soul and are so Impressive! Thanks to everyone who sent prayers and notes...it means alot to us! So off to work on more witches and ghosts, scarecrows and pumpkins and the like. Maybe I'll even make my boys some real food topped with cinnamon!! Won't they be surprised!
